IAAP Website

There is a section of the main IAAP website, under the tab titled Professional Development, devoted to the CPS^® and CAP^® exams. If you have not already done so, please make yourselves familiar with the information available to you there. You will also find most certification-related forms in the document library on the web community.

Examination Facts And Figures
Two Certification Programs:
3-part CPS Exam and 4-part CAP Exam

Examination Parts:
Part 1 Office Systems and Technology (CPS and CAP exams)
Part 2 Office Administration (CPS and CAP exams)
Part 3 Management (CPS and CAP exams)
Part 4 Advanced Organizational Management (CAP exam only)

We recommend that the Certification Review Guide be used to direct any course of study. The Certification Review Guide is found on the website at http://www.iaap-hq.org/prodev/certification/examrevw.pdf.

Examination Dates: The exams are given the first full weekend of May and November
Parts 1-3 of the CPS and CAP Exams are administered all day Saturday
Part 4 of the CAP Exam is administered Friday afternoon

Application Deadlines: February 15 for the May examinations
August 15 for the November examinations

NOTE: These are received by deadlines, not postmarked by deadlines
Candidates applying after the deadline must pay a $50 late fee. Late applications for the May exam will be accepted, with the additional late fee, only until February 28; late applications for the November exams will be accepted, with the additional late fee, only until August 31. Applications received after these dates will automatically be processed for the next exam.
November 2009 Exams:
Candidates registered for the November 2009 exams will be taking the exams November 6 and 7. Parts 1-3 of the CPS and CAP exams will be administered Saturday, November 7; Part 4 of the CAP exam will be administered Friday afternoon, November 6. Approved candidates will receive an admission letter by the end of September.
